# Master node reputation rating in Covenant system distributed security

Deterministic stability of distributed zero trust system can be gained only with achieving dynamic sustainability.

Dynamic sustainability of the distributed system requires self-balancing mechanics.

One of proven robust algorithms for distributed system self-balancing are EigenTrust-based decentralized node(peer) p2p[^1] reputation rating mechanics. These mechanics show high self-organizing efficiency in distributed systems and have applications in various network protocols.

In Covenant node fair p2p reputation rating mechanics are based on EigenTrust++ algorithm and are used as a part of Covenant multilayered security to achieve two important advantages for the zero trust deterministic distributed system: dynamic system fair p2p management for Covenant dynamic sustainability, and a required master node power factor in addition to the PoS requirements, that, in distributed system for high value BTCFi operations, is more expensive to achieve. While PoS-alone stake power can be "bought" (or borrowed), high p2p node reputation has to be fairly earned and can not be tampered.

### Main advantages:

* **Tamper-proof parameter:** node reputation is a credible parameter due to its tamper resistance: nodes don't have the power to affect their own reputation score.
* **Node collusion mitigation:** To achieve high reputation rate, a node should interact with sufficient amount of nodes. Colluded group of nodes can be easily traced.
* **Sybil attacks mitigation:** With reputation basis, flooding consensus with newbie nodes is impossible.
