# Covenant system security approach

Covenant system is built on a sophisticated combination of proven, battle-tested components that Covenant re-architectured into a multi-layered, safe Bitcoin-complementary distributed system.

Combining set of proven components, architectural modules, algorithms and mechanics allows Covenant to provide highly deterministic, dynamically-sustainable, programmatically-balanced and secure distributed self-custody zero-trust system.

The goal of architectural novelty approach is to provide Covenant system users with deterministic secure and reliable self-custody BTCFi services given a zero trust (pessimistic) dynamic environment.

Covenant system achieves this goal via layered isolation, modular composability, decentralization, self-balancing factor and user entropy inclusion while all elements are proven in production-grade distributed on-chain networks and real-market heavy-lift dynamic decentralized systems.

By using a combination of battle-proven techniques, Covenant architecture does not introduce new attack vectors or widen the attack surface. Even further, Covenant minimizes its possible attack surfaces by implementing the EAAC[^1] property.
